Akiane: God-sent Inspiration

Late last night, I asked God of what could possibly be in store for me and my family in the future(this regular speaking to God in prayer has been a habit since College).  Then i followed it up by a series of questions. "What do you want me to do Lord?  Please tell me what am I here for and what talent/passion you planted in my heart that you want me to develop?

I've been doing photography as a part-time job. I consider myself as a newbie in this field for I am not really confident with my output. I believe I still have a lot to learn. There were times that I feel hopeless  for I have less resources and my gadgets are only entry-level. My photos cannot be compared to those Pros who are using Pro Cameras and Lenses. My passion and love for photography is my only edge.

This morning, as I was searching about Planetshakers, a christian contemporary band,  I was led to this article about the 8 year-old kid named Akiane who sketched the face of God. The painting was confirmed by Colton, the boy in the true story movie, Heaven is for Real who had an encounter with God himself in his near-death experience.  Akiane's amazing childhood story was narrated in an article by Mark Ellis:

"Her atheist parents were surprised when their three-year-old began to describe dreams and visions from God. This inexplicable direction in their daughter’s life, combined with a remarkable talent in art and poetry, inspired her family to re-examine their own lives."
" In her early family life, there was no prayer, no discussions of God, and no visits to church. Yet in the insular atheistic environment her parents created – free from media influences or even outside babysitters – Akiane suddenly began to talk about God."

“Prince of Peace” by Akiane

What's more amazing was when her mother received a phone call of prophesy from Europe as stated in an article:

" The strange thing was, a Christian lady had called from Europe soon after Akiane was born, excitedly telling them what an incredible future was in store for their daughter. Since they were not believers, they did not take the woman's passionate prophecy seriously at the time. Akiane says that she first met God when she was three, and that her art is inspired by visions that God provides in her dreams. "He said, "You have to do this, and i'll help you.' "I said , Yes, I will." But I said it through different words in my mind.  I speak through my mind to Him." Akiane started drawing at age four, working in pastels at age five, painting when she was six, and writing poetry at seven."

In another article Akiane was described as a prodigy artist. God's presence truly manifests in her hands.  See this video to know more about her.

I followed her instagram and facebook page and  looked for videos of her. From what I saw, she is truly a wonderful creation. I was blessed by her life story and of how God blessed her with such talent and encounters with Him.

Today, I feel that God purposely led me to an article about her in order to be inspired and to never give up on my passion and desire, to patiently wait and to trust in His timing. There's this one quote of Akiane that hits me, it says:
"Receive life like a gift and release it like a present"
Indeed, that is what life is all about, It is a precious gift that we should take good care of and it is not ours to boast. We are entitled to share our lives and be a blessing/present to others.

Thank you Jesus, for these reminders.
